"A decision by "we the people" isn't automatically correct."

You might want to address something we disagree on, then...

"I know you don't see anything to disagree with."

To the possibility that your truncated quote might be misleading, let me enter the reminder that the quote referred to "All I said was there was no Absolute standard of morality".

I appreciate that all facts in science are provisional but I don't see any evidence that would cause me to reconsider that fact. The standards of human conduct across time and cultures have obviously reflected human concerns and values.

Many people have claimed to have Absolute truth (which would incorporate a knowledge of Absolute standards of conduct)--but such claims have been without reliable evidence and have in fact contradicted the claims of others and the facts of existence as recognized by various communities. I would be happy to consider evidence for Absolute Values (independent of circumstance, self interest, ideology, biological imperative, and developed values) but the idea seems hokey--and past "evidence" was not evidence at all... but personal anecdotes from "mystics".

This is not to say that conduct is not helpful or hurtful--but this always involves a judgment--and a reference to cultural, family, and individual values.
