can't remember people names at all. in fact, to an embarrassing degree (still haven't got all the names of a bunch of my relatives kids down yet!). but gimme a snake, frog, salamander or fungus and i'll know it by name. i think it's because the names are descriptive. now, if people had names that actually described their appearance, it might be a lot easier... like, some name that means "ears stick out and hair is the colour of a carrot"... well, then i think i might be able to remember a little better. <g>

Haaa, I'm exactly the same way...latin names that I haven't used for years, are stored away and available when needed, but peoples names...no way. Saturday night we attended a dinner party at some close friend's home. I've met most of the people there, but I don't see them often or know them well. I felt like an idiot, I couldn't remember hardly anyone's names, but everyone seemed to know mine....ugh...(Yen is great in these situations, she bails me out by asking a question that gets a name for me, she is very creative at this)
But, I can almost always tell you the last thing we talked about the last time we spoke...so I guess I am focusing on something!
Spectacular sunrise hear this morning...great way to start a monday, wow.
