Hi Joe...About Novell surges on takeover rumors The article does not make any sense. CNBC reported around 2:30 PM (Pacific) that Novell gained 2 3/8 on takeover rumors by NSCP or IBM. Netscape said they are not interested and IBM said "no comment". I talked to someone in Novell Investor Relations, here is what she said: Q: Can you comment on the stock action? A: We don't have any news to report. Q: What about the IBM rumor? A: All what I can tell you is "IBM is a partener of Novell" End of discussion. My opinion is: aquisition by NSCP is unlikely, but it could be IBM, CPQ, ORCL, or others. Regards Salah
