I am probably one of many who feel that our Veterans should have the very best quality of medical care. Veteran's medical needs should be a top priority in our health care system.

Unfortunately, it seems as if VA medical care is not a priority.

In my opinion the VA is not first class care.

I agree with your thoughts. You make some good points for keeping the current system as you said "warts and all". Maybe there might be some way to combine options for VA medical care, so that health insurance might be an option for those who have less serious injuries?

Hopefully those of us who have the ability to support a worthwhile cause would consider donating to a good cause such as Fisher House Foundation or a Wounded Warrior project that supplements the care the VA hospitals provide.

...hospital's brain and spinal cord injury ward and try to figure out where those patients will fit in the civilian system. Then there are the amputees, double, triple and quadruple. All of these folks need a lot of care for life
.

There are some excellent rehabilitation programs that exist outside of the VA system, but I would agree with you that the special needs of the VA hospital patients probably would overwhelm these programs. Unfortunately IMO Obamacare will also overwhelm our current medical system, as there already is a lack of primary care physicians.

Hopefully a better solution can be found to meet the needs of VA patients in the future.

Thank you for your service to our country.
