What do you want to know?

Commercially MeOH is made in two steps: the first is the reaction of methane and water to Carbon Dioxide and hydrogen; the second is the reaction of Carbon Dioxide and
hydrogen to Methanol. Note that Carbon Dioxide is always a byproduct and that the usable heat in MeOH is far less the the usable heat in the Methane used in its production.

No matter what fuel cell vendors say or hope these are facts based on the system chemistry and thermodynamics
and can not be changed.
