I know some people think that, mostly liberals, but I am not so sure about it?

Male circumcision was more for matters of cleanliness I think.

With females it is really a bloody event and very cruel. Besides cutting out the clitoris with a razor blade, or other sharp object, in many places they sew up the vagina and the male has to cut it for birth.

I remember reading how when doctors have to cut the vagina for birth in the west, the women worry about them cutting into the anus.

And think what women endure is much much worse, as the men are cutting out women's pleasure and making sure males are not cheated on.

I think conflating that with male circumcision downplays how inhumane and cruel female circumcision is?

But a close look at any primitive culture will usually show horrible beliefs and behavior.

One thing I always thought liberals got dead wrong was romaticising poverty and illiteracy.

A close look at both show they are not romantic.

Can we add circumcision to that long list and change the sex to male and the country to the US? Mutilating the body or sexual organs sounds horrible until we do it.
