Well, actually it could be a religion in that it believes something in particular about God or the Gods. However, then that makes the religionists attack agnosticism, which doesn't take a stance, as being wishy washy and a refusal to take a stance.

So, if it isn't allowed to take the stance of "I don't know", then atheism should not be considered a religion.
