92.5

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 21, 1998--B.A.T.
International's (OTC:BAAT.O) SUPER CAR clocked up 92.5 mpg during a
demonstration at California Speedway (see news release dated Jan. 16,
1998).
Joseph P. LaStella, president of B.A.T., stated that the Jan. 15
demo had almost been called off because of an oil problem with the
No. 2 cylinder; however, the decision had been made to go ahead with
the test, which recorded 92.5 mpg.
LaStella Wednesday announced that arrangements have been made for
the return of the SUPER CAR to the California Speedway on Feb. 10 with
a fully functioning engine, and that it is expected to record gas
mileage in excess of 100 mpg.
Invitations will again be sent out to more than 200 major
automakers, auto-industry suppliers and government officials to
participate in the certification process.
At the Jan. 15 demonstration, there were five nationally known
certifiers, including Keith Harper; test driver for General Motors
John Green; precision driver for companies like Mercedes-Benz and
Toyota Gene Cosmano; nationally known driver Curt Thurmon; and
professional engineer and team leader Rodger Ward, two-time winner
of the Indy 500 race.
There were also other professionals, who identified themselves as
representatives of unidentified major corporations who also followed
the certification process.
Ronald A. Holland, chief engineer, stated after disassembly of
the engine that no damage had been discovered, nor any unusual wear.
The problems that occurred at the Jan. 15 demonstration were of a
technical nature not associated with B.A.T.'s Pulse Charge Technology.
LaStella has been live on the Internet
(www.angelfire.com/biz/baat) for the past two nights answering
questions with regard to the Jan. 15 demonstration test run and
Pulse Charge Technology. Between approximately 10 and 11 a.m. PT,
he will again address the national audience.
