It was the visit to Nokia's W-CDMA test network in Japan that convinced the Hong Kong operator to start a W-CDMA collaboration with Nokia.


For someone who has the audacity to try and correct my usage of the English language, you sure do have selective intelligence. I said "pilot" and you refer to a "test". I wasn't aware that Nokia owned a license to operate a wireless service in Japan. It's a far cry from demonstrating a technology in lab conditions to implementing it in the real world.

The construction of first Japanese W-CDMA networks starts this summer. I have never heard of a situation where no chipsets exist three months before a build-up begins.

Getting back to my original post, I defy you and will continue to defy you, to name the manufacturer of said chipsets.
