Savage is a shock jock. If he can't say something that people would protest, or groups would ban, or the FCC would threaten him over, he hasn't done his job. I'm sure he means well but knows some of his statments are overly broad brushed. Banning is a feather in his cap and a goal for him and financially rewarding.

Yusaf Islam (Cat Stevens) was preaching and probably meant well and knows he is conflicted over his peace songs and the hard line of the doctrine. Banning is martyrdom for him but was not likely his goal, and brings no reward.

I don't overlook this. However, make no mistake - Cat Stevens fully supports the hard line Islamic doctrine. There was no apprehension over it. He believed Rushdie ought to die.

It is believed Cat Stevens has done more than just remark on the Rushdie situation. There are reports from multiple intelligence services that he was instrumental in providing funding for the Blind Sheik, who eventually was complicit in the '93 WTC attack. There was another incident where he was caught crossing a border with a large amount of cash which couldn't be explained satisfactorily.

Obviously, he hasn't been tried for anything, but these are precisely the kinds of people we need to keep out of our country.
