Kerm / Iraq Attack I watched the CCN/Time special the other night re UNSCOM and its efforts to uncover evidence of Iraq's chemical and biological weapons. It left me thinking that the odds of Iraq complying with this new round of inspections will be zero. Endless blatant attempts by Iraq to delay and prevent inspections. They actually declared 4.5 sq km of downtown Bagdad (containing 700 buildings) a presidential site. Fascinating to watch the inspection team being delayed outside an inspection site while a U2 spy plane photographed movement inside the site from 60,000 feet. Iraq appears to have much to hide and were extreme amateurs at coming up with plausible explanations for apparent violations. I suspect they are taking advantage of the pause in inspections to hide remaining evidence, but I was most impressed with UNSCOM's intelligence capabilities. I think they will know where to look. Anyway, I came away thinking that there's no chance Iraq will cooperate with new inspections. I think they're going to get whacked within a couple of months. I'm willing to bet some $$$ on it. PS.
