You're right, it certainly is a combination of the two. I should have said, the recent drop in ASP's is a result of overall demand, and not of marketing. The fact that ASP's were always lower even at the peak of AMD's ASP's is a result of marketing and 10 years of good reputation from Intel and bad reputation from AMD.
