Technology does allow for a more efficient way to do things. What he neglects to address is that such changes take time.

No, I fully acknowledge it takes time to evolve new systems. I argued with my grad school roommate that we were headed to a cashless society. He asked when and answered, "By 1985". So, I learned my lesson on far-reaching expectations.

However, if a legitimate need arose, if the banking system was no longer meeting the demands, some alternative could be cranked out quickly. Necessity is the mother of invention.
