Fair value to SHVA shareholders?
take a look at these articles. First the LANRover wins an award (not that we haven't seen plenty of awards and few sales from SHVA...but), second - much more importantly - ATT will resell SHVA's VPN. Now we're out at $6, the action begins.

AT&T and Shiva Join Forces In Channel Agreement, Enabling VPN Solutions
Shiva's LanRover VPN Product Suite Combines With AT&T WorldNet(R) Managed Internet and VPN Services to Provide Standards-based Connectivity for AT&T Enterprise Customers
BEDFORD, Mass., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T Corp. (NYSE: T - news) and Shiva Corporation (Nasdaq: SHVA - news) announced today that the two companies will jointly market Shiva customer-premises Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology and AT&T IP network services to businesses that want to deploy feature-rich, flexible access solutions to their Internet/intranet/extranet applications.
Shiva and AT&T channels will promote a tested, newly enhanced AT&T/Shiva VPN solution that will be available through authorized AT&T Alliance Program Agents who are also Shiva VPN resellers. Agents will support the combined solution with value-added professional consulting services to provide complete VPN connectivity to their customers.
The enhanced VPN offer to be marketed by the two companies will allow customers to take advantage of emerging, end-to-end, secure tunneling mechanisms and deploy flexible, cost-effective custom access solutions. Specifically, Shiva solutions complement AT&T's services with end-to-end tunneling options that support IP and IPX. Shiva's IPsec-compliant LanRover VPN Gateway also provides hardware-based encryption and hardware-based security enhancements.
Shiva, a leading provider of integrated VPN and direct dial business access products, will provide its LanRover VPN Product Suite to serve as a standards-based, customer premises device that can be added to AT&T WorldNet® Managed Internet Service and AT&T WorldNet® Virtual Private Network Service customers. The LanRover VPN Product Suite integrates direct dial and VPN technology to provide reliable network access that is optimized to allow businesses to implement a tailored, cost-effective approach for their needs.
''This relationship will enable Shiva and AT&T customers to take advantage of the security, flexibility and economic benefits of a tested VPN solution,'' said James L. Zucco, Jr., chairman and CEO of Shiva. ''It also furthers Shiva's goal of delivering on its service provider initiative announced in July 1998 with AT&T-tested technology that works with AT&T's IP network services.''
Also as part of the agreement, Shiva and AT&T will actively recruit, co- market and co-promote the combined solution through both companies' extensive channels. These efforts include plans for special training for the enhanced VPN solution, incentives and limited-time promotions.
''Clearly there's a huge market here; each day more and more companies tell us they're looking for a complete VPN service with all the features, functionality, interoperability, reliability and security we can provide,'' said Kathleen Earley, vice president of AT&T Internet Services. ''This solution not only gives them that and more, customers may opt to use our products to build their own VPN system. Or, they may choose to enlist the help of a knowledgeable AT&T Alliance professional to install a secure, end- to-end, tested premises-based installation and support package.''
Shiva Delivering on Its Service Provider Initiative
In July 1998, Shiva outlined a program for service providers that will help them deliver reliable, scaleable and secure VPN solutions to their enterprise business customers (see Shiva Launches VPN Partnership Program For Service Providers, July, 1998). Shiva sees the market opportunity for managed VPN services as significant, with many business customers looking to their current telecommunications provider to add this capability to their existing services.
About the AT&T Alliance Program
The AT&T Alliance Program was developed as a strong, integrated and complementary sales channel that brings incremental value to AT&T and its customers. Approximately 500 agents currently participate in the programs, all with competencies that extend the depth of expertise that AT&T brings to the customer in understanding their business and providing data and IP solutions.
