What you say about being one tribe is scientifically correct. The walls we build between ourselves are completely man made constructions. That doesn't make them less real.

Obama had an opportunity to tear down some walls. He could have branded himself the first united-race president. He chose to go another route. He identified with his black half completely. Down plays, is even embarrassed by his white half (grandma was a typical white person). Wields his blackness as a blunt political tool. As a result the walls have gone even higher.

Lost opportunities is a theme of the American Presidency for the past 80 years,.
