I try to do that with stocks that have the potential for big moves. Generally, the first thing I try to do is raise the stop to breakeven, then if it keeps moving look for an exit to sell half the position and jack up the stop on the other half. Then you can relax, forget about it, and let it run for the hills if it will.

I like having my cake and eating it too!
