Sounds like the eject button is staying depressed. Take a paper clip and stick it in the tiny hole and jiggle it around. This is a manual way of opening the tray if your cd gets stuck or the computer is turned off with a cd in it. Push the paperclip straight in to depress the eject mechanism. Maybe it has gotten a little out of line.
