Anyone who believes there is "plenty of high ground" in NOLA doesn't know WTF he's talking about.

How about where the wealthy people live and the French Quarter, unaffected by the flood?

The Quarter is 5' above sea level, when you're talking about the lake draining into the bowl.

As to the "wealthy people", in case you haven't noticed, fully 80% of NOLA was flooded. Poor, wealthy, it totally doesn't matter. When you have a city full of poor people that floods, more poor people are going to be affected than wealthy people.

As any idiot can see from the following animation, the amount of unflooded area within NOLA was minuscule.
