I happen to start up a conversation with an financial analyst at the conference I was at this week at the bar.

It was interesting to see his perspective. He is part of a management team of a private fund. They are essentially trying to get a much money out of the country as they can as they see a devaluation of the USD coming. They are looking at Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

The don't like oil sand stocks as they think the amount of natural gas available in the US will dramatically reduce the demand for oilsands oil.

They are invested aboard in Asia but think only Singapore is relative stable. They potentially see the other countries as unstable as the amout corruption means the government can turn on foreign investors in an instance. They will take investment funds but there is no accountability. He had first hand experience with this.

He did not see an compelling technology stories at the conference we were both attending.
