Dale, you didn't try my patience at all; thanks for giving an answer that I can understand <g>
Like you, I hold G&K stocks and want to continue to hold them for the long term. However, given the amount of time I spend reading these threads and poring over IBD, I figure that I should be able to learn how to generate some cash as well. To date my history in trading (begun 3 months ago) does not provide much cause for optimism. I do not short (never will) and now know that I am way too untutored to try for quick long plays in this kind of market.

My question is, if your timing is like mine (ie not great), what are you planning to do to help yourself in the options game? Have you developed a set of simple principles to guide you? I would like to try covered calls, but I don't want to get too fancy with it and would love some simple advice.

TIA, Lynn
