If you can figure out how to *pay for* an Empire... without disadvantaging ourselves vis-a-vie our competitors/enemies such as China or Russia, then, (by ALL MEANS!), let us know how.

It would be a Hell of a strategic coup for America if you could show us how.

Absent that though... I'd suggest that the NORMAL LAWS OF ECONOMICS likely still apply... and we should PICK and CHOOSE how we expend our limited capital, and the blood, sweat, and tears of our citizens... and RISK and EXPENSE should always be measured against potential REWARD.

(And, if *one* desired outcome is deemed too expensive, or too unlikely to be achieved with a particular approach --- well, there are usually always OTHER ways to 'skin a cat', too. Nothing WRONG with employing brains and clever strategy to achieve what we want in this world....)
