I see it as you do, generally. This is apt to be a tough investment year (already is). If the big killer will stay at bay, things will shape up.

What is this about commodities in the third world? Demand is there but not a lot of money to carry through on it. Getting better - I think energy will continue to slowly trend upward for a long, long time. Do you not agree?

The big killer? Debt. When those overseas call their money home, as they will one day (let us hope not all at once - that will kill) our interest rates rise and we are capital strapped. Things do not look so bad at the moment though.

Al Greenspan is concerned about the debt, high on his list. As you say, there are big limits as to just what he can do. Val
