Casey says African mutual fund a hold

Trillion Resources Ltd TLQ
Shares issued 22,364,500 Oct 20 close $0.40
Tue 20 Oct 98 In the News
Douglas Casey, writing in the Oct. 1 issue of his International Speculator,
says Trillion Resources is a hold at 40 cents. Mr. Casey recommended the
stock in February 1996 at $4.90 and April 1996 at $5.25. At that time, Mr.
Casey was upbeat about Trillion, which had a number of projects centred
around Zaire's copper belt. They were so numerous and of such quality Mr.
Casey called Trillion "almost one-stop shopping for some of the best
projects in Africa." In the current report, the U.S.-based letter writer is
still excited about the projects, but not about the company that owns them.
"This mutual fund of properties in Africa is worth more dead than alive,"
he argues. "Its parts can probably be sold for about triple what the stock
trades for." Trillion peaked on May 22, 1996 at $7.75.
