I think it was probably poison ivy.

I know there's no way to find out, but my father and the neighbors and the doctor, etc. all called it poison oak. I remember my father taking me out into the woods when I was small and pointing out poison ivy and poison sumac. Why would they have said poison oak? If a kid get's that kind of a skin reaction and the parents are ignorant of the various kinds of plants that could cause it, they would probably just say it was poison ivy because that's the most well known of them. They wouldn't think to say it was poison oak.

CR, I'm having a crisis here. My underpinnings have been knocked out. My whole life has been a sham. Oh, dear; oh, dear.
