Mat, OK my $.02 on this... and I don't know (really), but ORCL IMHO <g> is the most likely candidate. There are a lot of "fit" factors with ORCL.

Notwithstanding, Larry Ellison's agressive and competitive stance
against the Wintel venue, and Mr. Gates in particular. Even though
Oracle is involved with the Wintel platform, they are also very much
so cross-platform; they now have deep-pockets, they are a very big-time player (especially in the SAP R/3 world).

IF, there were to be a take-out, ORCL in my opinion is a very, very
likely.

I do NOT see Netscape taking out Novell. I cannot fathom that scenario.
