Then why did he bring it up? He wanted political gain.

It is a fact it has turned into a political liability because of Pelosi's rather obvious lies. But Obama's remarks were before Pelosi was in the soup.

I'm sure now he is saying, "Dear God, I don't want the cheese anymore if you can just get me out of this trap".
