Nobody is talking about a "competent investigation". We're talking about a political witch hunt instigated by the Ds just like hundreds of them in the past. The reality is the American people agree with what was done under the Bush administration and recognize that these tactics -- good or bad -- kept them safe for 7+ years. The difference between the Ds and the Rs on this is that the Rs know they have been truthful, while the Ds have lied. So, the Rs have nothing to fear of an investigation. Porter Goss is out there saying, "Hey, I knew it and I supported it", which is true. Pelosi is saying, "I didn't know it and opposed it", which is not true. The Rs SHOULD be full steam ahead on this. The Rs have no exposure. They aren't lying. And the law obviously wasn't broken.
