Cheney, a man who sees EVERY Muslim with a negative veiw of the US as a potential terrorist, (and any POTENTIAL terrorist IS a terrorist) is a paranoid of the first order. I think he sees himself on a slippery slope to being tried for war crimes. Thus, his frantic, almost shrill, defense of the Bush admin. policies.

I also think he's FAR more complicit in the torture than we realize, and he did it with Bush himself having only a dim knowledge of it or it's bad precedents. ALL these policies probably originated with Cheney and/or his good pal Rummy.
