If this were 100 years ago he'd be carrying a burning cross,

a transformation of the "Southern Democrats" to Republicans resulted. First off, what does that have to do with Zell Miller, who didn't leave the Democratic party? Second, trying to freeze the south as it was in 1964 is a big mistake. Times change and so do people.
