We had some excavation done and a lawn drain installed in our front lawn yesterday. Today, as I was doing the breakfast dishes, looking out the front window I saw a flock of wild turkeys walking through the front yard. Went into the den to get the camera, but by the time I got out front they had apparently gone back into the woods.

I put the camera down on the pathway and got down on my hands and knees to rearrange a few border stones that the workers had moved out of place, heard a noise behind me and turned around to see one straggler. He didn't even mind my snapping a pic, and simply stood there watching me for a good 2-3 minutes, occasionally picking up some seeds that had fallen out of the bird feeder, until I stood up to go back in the house. Then he meandered into the woods to join his family.

What a great way to start a day! :)
