K you have to educate me on your "holographic". If you are talking about video-conferencing it's already here and it's the bandwidth not the PC that's not there yet. But if you are talking about the PC picking you up and taking you to the fridge to get a beer, I don't know how much horse power we would need. But I could work on some numbers, how heavy are you? Things like speech recognition are either specialized applications (perhaps for the blind) or they won't become a mess market item until they become REAL inexpensive. I never said "who needs the net". It became part of my daily life almost immediately. I could also get into visiting museums (audio-visual) across the ocean without leaving my desk. It won't replace the real thing but it would help me familiarize myself before I pack the bags & go. But again, this is bandwidth. The CPU power is already here.
