You are wrong - not every woman has ultrasounds- and the tests pregnant women take do NOT pick up everything. You are misinformed if you think they do. Sometimes the doctors don't get worried until late in the pregnancy- do a search, you'll find a host of medical conditions that aren't picked up early for various reasons. And of course not everyone has health care to afford pre-natal- which costs plenty- and since no one here wants to pay for poor women's pre-natal care (that would be BIG government! Well, I want to pay for them, so I guess I can't say NO ONE) you've got to expect a few awful cases. No woman should have to wait the extra month to deliver a very deformed baby- and they get bigger every day, which makes the birth that much more difficult. ASAP should be the rule- and I suspect it is. I'm sure it doesn't happen often- HENCE the low rate for PBA's. If you want to really make a difference, worry about child abuse of the already born. That would strike me as rational. When every BORN child is safe and wanted, THEN you can turn you attention to the unborn.
