If you had someone replace the suspension in your car you wouldn't expect the dealership who sold your car to you to do warranty work on it, would you?

No, Gerald, but I would expect them to fix the engine under warranty.

DLLs are components, and Novell should supply its own DLLs, not overwrite MS DLLs. But, NDS is an OS level service, and probably needs to tweak some OS level functions. NDS is becoming well understood by Novell admins. It makes NT more scalable and is, in fact, better than what MS offers now. So it is a significant enhancement to NT. In a perfect world, MS would embrace the enhancement because it makes their product work better and their customer's lives easier. They would certify Novell's DLLs and then beat them with a better NDS product feature (they may do this eventually, but not today). If 'ifs' and 'buts' were candy and nuts...

I believe that this is the old IBM ploy of spreading FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt). If they've reversed the policy, good. Because what will eventually stop MS' rise is arrogance and pride and becoming SOBIG corporation. It seems that this attitiude is on the rise just judging by the tone in the company's public announcements.
