Gingrich to End GOP Bid, Endorse Romney By DANNY YADRON Newt Gingrich plans to end his presidential campaign and endorse Mitt Romney next week at an event in Washington, aides to the former House speaker said. Mr. Gingrich made the decision after a weak showing Tuesday in Republican primaries in five states, including the contest in Delaware, where he had campaigned heavily in a last stand for his shoestring campaign.
