CIEN was upgraded to strong buy from buy by Solomon today. I wonder who has been buying all the shares into the upgrade? Announced earnings, PSR is 16.6 on TTM, PE is 60. Revs were 112.1 million, eps @ .33. Company also warned of slowing growth:
LINTHICUM, Md., Aug 20 (Reuter) - CIENA Corp on Wednesday said it was still "very positive" about its prospects in fiscal 1988, though investors "should not be surprised" by moderating quarter-on-quarter growth in the six months.
In a statement accompanying its fiscal third-quarter results, the company also said it planned to open a technology development center in Atlanta. The facility is expected to be fully operational with a starting staff of 10 to 15 engineering professionals by the end of the current fiscal year in October.
CIENA, which supplies multiplexing systems to long-distance telecommunications carriers, also expects to lease additional facilities in the Linthicum, Maryland, area to use for expansion over the next two or three quarters.
