I don't believe Oracle counted on large revenues from NC licensing.
Did it say this? I still think that many of the naysayers
claim that Oracle overspent on the network computer and significantly
missed nc revenue targets. I see no evidence for either claim,
either of which could suggest Oracle misjudged to some degree.

On the object front, it looks like your analysis contains a
contradiction I see in the trade press (and I don't want to
overdo my criticism of you), which is to claim on the one hand that O8 adoption is slowed by lack of object support (at least to the degree some oo proponents would want) but on the other hand that Oracle fuzzed its focus by (in part) investing in objects. I think
the stated Oracle position is that it decided to pursue objects more
slowly than it first planned (several years ago) but that the work
is continuing.

Well, gotta go. More to think about, but no time now.
