That's a non-issue. All senators and governors running for prez miss tons of votes, from both parties. You're wrong, Dole was planning to retire and ready for it. He wanted the White House or else retirement. And who cares anyway? What about Goldwater? McCain? Gw Bush? Lieberman? Quayle? All the same thing. You cant run for prez and be there for votes. You can try to catch a few important ones but that's about it.
