It would be difficult for any company to institute a successful bid against nxtl at the present time. With Motorola and the McCaw family controling a large amount of the outstanding stock, the chances of success would be minimal. However, a hint of a takeover, would move this stock over 40 in a very short period time.
Longer term, I believe nxtl will be bought out for a very significant price. This should occur when the McCaw family decides to divest their interest in the stock, although, the synergy of nxtl, nextlink, and nextband indicates, the family may be looking for something bigger.
