My coffee shop friend who went to the Mideast on a one year thing to work in Kuwait and Iraq to teach policemen, well he's back. Did 25 years of everything from county cop to undercover for the feds. "Retired" and worked on the county road crew, raised horses and did landscaping.

Age got him. He was carrying 2 heavy machine guns up some stairs and got a double hernia. They couldn't treat him at a military hospital because he was a civilian contractor. Developed an infection so they sent him home to be operated on.
