Vital Statistics - 2/8/00

According to statistics from VideoScan, for the week ending Jan. 30, 2000, DVD title sales for the week slowed slightly to 657,000 with 2,974,000 titles sold year-to-date.

For the week ending Jan. 28, 2000, DVD player unit sales to dealers fell slightly from last week to 173,464, yet still a 181.4 percent increase from 1999. Projection television sales were 42,597, an 18.2 percent increase. Month-to-date and year-to-date, DVD player sales are 370,031, a 194.8 percent increase from January 1999 sales, and projection television sales are up at 92,210, a 26.8 percent.
