re: kiz stuff --

I had a real problem with his statements about backwards compatibility and about *a source* stating that if Zip were to replace the floppy, it should have done it in a year. This is absurd. From roll-out to ramp-up to the creation of supply and distribution channels to replace the floppy in one year. Do you think that if Intel and MSW were behind the project and put their resouces to it that even they could have done it in a year? Maybe, but probably not. So, if a turn-around / start-up company doesn't do it in a year that shows the product is fatally flawed? Oh, please........

Consider also our discussion this afternoon about the floppy being replaced by several devices, and that IOM's business plan is to capture the dominate share of the *removable media market*.

KE was right when he foresaw the potential of this niche, and he was right when he deduced that backward compatibility was not a requirement. The news from Micron validates this. We shall soon see if the market validates Micron's decision.
