It is disgusting. In our area we have Giant Food. Giant Food has a shopping service called Peapod. Order on line and get it according to time you want it delivered. Began using the service when my husband was ill and have continued as it saves time for things I enjoy doing such as teaching piano.

For past year------suddenly the eggs in the cartons would be broken----so I called the 800 # to get a credit on my payment---about 5 times.

Finally I caught on, I noticed that the egg containers were not being wrapped with the bubble wrap to prevent breakage---which they had done for years. (I was blaming it on the drivers, in my mind, for not being careful----was I ever wrong. )

Finally I called to ask why the eggs weren't being wrapped. Giant/Peapod was fined at Federal level for using the bubble wrap around the egg cartons and said they could no longer do so. So here we have a break down in a system that was working well. I told the man I spoke with I would write a letter, which I haven't done but will.

Peapod uses good quality plastic bags for groceries, eventually I know those will go-----and that will be the demise of their service. Like you those plastic bags get reused many times.

The paying for paper bags goes back to the transition to plastic bags. We were charged if we wanted paper bags but we could have the plastic bags at no cost.

Wonder where that 10 cents for the paper bags goes-----to the regulators, the manufacturer, the store owner. To the County or city.
