Promise FastTrack ATA RAID Controller....A review has been posted on the Storage Review site. storagereview.com Go to features on the side menu. The review includes a good description of what RAID is. This technology also provides a means to add additional harddrives to one's system and in larger sizes by using a PCI slot. It adds RAID capability at a very reasonable price. The performance review is mixed.
