Roy, I am sure sorry to hear about your wife and tell her my prayers are with her. Several companies are working on therapies that will attack cancers, and some are after breast cancer specifically. I will list the ones I like, but you ought to check the biotech topic for names of others. I like the transgenics companies. There are killer cells that wipe out cancers, but delivering them to the cancer cell without them being destroyed first by the immune system is a problem The transgenic companies are mutating animals to produce products or cells that will be accepted by the body and allowed to do their healing work. The leader, IMHO, is Genzyme Transgenics, (GZTC) with their Frankenstein goats -g-. Their goat's milk has been genetically altered to human specs and the prospects look good there. A similar idea but different approach is the "bloodhound" breast cancer killer cells developed by Medarex (MEDX). Call them and get a copy of their 1995 annual, which has a picture of how their Microphage killer cell engulfs and destroys a breast cancer cell right on the cover and inside cover page. Ciba- Geigy is their partner, and that is a big name that believes in this approach. (908) 713-6001. Ligand has the broadest and most promising product pipeline of any small biotech firm, IMHO. They have several anti-cancer treatments in Phase II studies right now. I like it for more than their cancer products, but it is a leader there. British Biotech is another one I owned until the price got kind of fat, and they have very promising cancer therapies. Also, look at some of the larger companies that I don't follow, such as Merck, Pfizer, etc. Biotech is important, but traditional research gets some great ideas too. Good luck, MB
