Way oversimplified. ST trading had a little to do with it, but there were bigger issues involved. For the rich its no bargain to ST trade anyway at 50% combined tax rate fed and state. What you would be doing is adding another 10 points. You really want to get em, dont let them take or offset losses. Then you would see dow 2000 again.
