Nyer Medical Subsidiary Receives $500,000 Product Order From Major National Distribution Group

BANGOR, Maine, June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Nyer Nutritional Systems, Inc. an 80 percent-owned subsidiary of Nyer Medical Group, Inc. NYER today announced that it had received a third order for the company's anti-microbial nutritional formulas from a nationwide medical products distributor. The new order is approximately $500,000.
The order encompasses all 10 of the company's proprietary nutritional formulas: the original AMTF(TM) and seven new enteral formulas for use in diabetic, high protein, renal, respiratory, high calorie, pediatric and trauma applications. Also included in the order are two new flavored formulas for use as oral supplements.
According to estimates based upon retail sales of the industry, there are approximately a quarter of a million people in the United States who must be fed through a tube each day, and an average of 27 percent of tube feedings experience bacterial contamination. The Nyer formulas, based around Nyer Nutritional's patented combination of components which suspend protein content and regulate total acidity, will not support pathogenic bacterial growth.

Nyer Medical Group is a holding company with operations in distribution and service of medical products, retail pharmacies, distribution of emergency and rescue equipment and supplies, and distribution of medical foods and supplies used in tube feedings.
