re- Goldman controlling markets.

The thing that disturbs me about Goldman is not that they control any one commodity by the size of their investment. But rather that they finance and control the 'ammo' for so many hedge funds. If I remember correctly they were the prime broker for both of the big hedge funds that went broke- Mother Rock and Ameranth. They gave them the money, saw they were in trouble- and reportedly both traded against them and pulled the plug.

Also- having their 'boy' inside at the Treasury is like seeing the cards before they are dealt imo.

The other thing that Goldman has beyond the sheer size of their in house trading positions- is INFLUENCE.Remember how their Oil analyst was the one who led the last big breakout.

For any other old timers here. Todays market environment of these huge buyouts is remeniscent of the the Michael Milken & Ivan Boesky days. Todays news has a Middle Eastern group of Investors and Kohlberg Kravis trying to buy DOW chemical. Thats huge.

More money is now being concentrated into fewer and fewer hands- that are more and more politically powerfull and connected. And most disturbingly- International & Global in their interests. The economic good of American citizens now takes a backseat to global corporate & private equity interests.
