Bob-I have an unusual approach to stocks. I reserve about 30% of my portfolio to ST trading with the balance reserved for the LT. In the miscellaneous section -Mr./Mrs. Midas Touch I have supplied my short term picks for the month. They are: VOXW NSPK THM LARS SMIT. In the contest I am picking VOXW and NSPK (NSPK had broken out on Friday) because I think we are about to enter a new mania in internet telephony plays. VOXW on the charts look horrible however the last few days the stock has risen as well as the volume. 50 day MA is $4.25 and 200 day MA is $4.75. Upper limit of the descending triangle is $5.00. In order to have a chance to win the competition I had to take a little gamble here and guess that this is the month VOXW will break out because of the circumstances surrounding the stock. The company is in a burgeoning sector (see VOCLF,one of my ST picks for Aug), VOXW has licensed its technology to the biggies MSFT NSCP or companies that have begun a nice run such as AND. Also, this month it will be involved in marketing itself in technology conferences so the investment community will become more aware of the company. LARS is slowly looking better technically and is more reasonably priced fundamentally in the networking sector than most companies. SMIT is having a new product introduction at the end of the month and has consolidated its recent gains. Please give me any feedback on my choices and if you have any stocks that you find to be attractive over the short and/or long term. Do you pick stocks strictly from the technicals? Do you look at fundamentals or other catalysts to propel them higher?
