The Department of Justice cannot Constitutionally take over the military. If such information were available, it would be ludicrous to imagine that it would not become a political scandal. In any event, the UN has no independent military or police forces, and is utterly dependent on the cooperation of the advanced industrial countries, especially the United States, to function. Without the footing of bills and the sending of troops, there is nothing much that the UN can do. The underestimation of the Republican willingness to make an issue of such matters is bizarre. It is very like the rumors about Clinton using Y2K riots to justify the imposition of martial law: didn't happen, did it? It is all silly..........
