Third Party Suppliers for SGI Parts. Sometimes, I think this is SGI's dirty little secret because it amazes me that so few people know that many SGI parts can be bought from third party suppliers. Memory, hard drives, SCSI peripherals, VME boards,... Did you know that SGI uses Seagate Barracuda's for their hard drives. The only proprietary part of the hard drive is the removable sled and you can find a third party supplier for it as well!
